The Nuts and Bolts Of Getting A Nose Job
A “nose job” is a rather crude term for a common surgical procedure
known as Rhinoplasty Surgery and involves the process of reshaping,
resizing or repositioning the nose. Most nose jobs today are for
cosmetic reasons even though it’s original development was for repairing
the inner nose to minimize breathing difficulties through the nose.
Girls as young as 14 to 15 are able to undergo a nose job. Boys are
encouraged to wait until they are a little older, since it takes more
time for their noses to stabilize as the body transitions from boy to man.
The cost of a nose job can vary dramatically based on several factors:
- The extensive level of surgery needed, which is determined by the
facial structure, desired changes and physical age of patient.
- Demographics are also an influencing factor. A clinic in New York City
will certainly cost more than a Clinic in Small Town Arizona.
- The breakdown of services may vary including the cost of the consult,
the surgery itself and after care follow up treatment. Charges for the
anesthesiologist and facility fee are often tacked on to the over all bill.
- Anesthesiologist – $700.
- Facility Fee – $800.
- Primary Open Rhinoplasty – $3000 – $6500
- Primary Closed Rhinoplasty – $$2,900 – $5800
For a second nose job prices go up substantially starting at $7000.
Most insurance companies will not pay for a cosmetic nose surgery unless it
includes some physical respiratory relief. The cost of a nose job is not
cheap. Many nose reconstruction surgeons will provide some sort of
payment plan if you are determined to get your nose fixed in spite of
the cost. They also may be able to work within insurance parameters to
get your insurance company for at least a partial payment.
