Can liposuction help me lose weight?
Liposuction is not a weight loss surgery procedure as such and is more used to remove isolated areas of fat that will not respond to diet. Do not think of it as weight loss procedure and more for refining and sculpting the body.
However, it is rarely seen as an alternative to dieting and exercise, with many surgeons preferring to carry out such a procedure only if such options have already been exhausted. Those that have excess fat removed from the stomach could also be left with excess skin, in which case they can undergo abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to remedy this.
A tummy tuck and liposuction are very commonly performed together as this combination can tighten the stomach as well as remove excess fat. If you are considering cosmetic surgery then make sure you do the research on your cosmetic surgeon
